Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Our Story
Founded in October 2022, Synergy Society is an educational initiative to make education more accessible and interesting to the underprivileged. I noticed that the primary problem was not necessarily that schools were not accessible to underprivileged students, but rather that they did not feel interested in learning and rather wanted to spend their time at home. Thus, I set out to make education more relevant for students.
First, I created 2 curriculums - one for science and one for the humanities. These do not necessarily teach a specific concept, but rather show a more holistic view of these subjects - not what is science, but why science and what to do after science. I made these in a way in which would pique the curiosity of students, making them eager to learn more.
Next, I created ‘Synergy Kits’ which are materials etc to conduct experiments, thus showing real life application of concepts which makes sessions much more interactive and interesting. These kits were donated to select schools. I also created an activity book, which consisted of fun and interesting experiments which can be done using the kit, or even without it, at home
Last, I taught through the curriculum, kits and activity at several schools and collaborated with Fiem Foundation and Kailesh Satharthi Foundation to further the reach of the project. The reception to these sessions have been amazing!
In additional, I also started the Symbiosis Journal, an interdisciplinary journal for high school students. With this, I intended to make a platform where the research and thoughts of young minds could be heard. So far, I have published 2 editions of the
journal, with over 25 high quality research papers being published.
